Why Does the Sun Keep Moving? |
by David A. DePra |
"Why does the sun keep moving? Why does it keep following |
us when we drive in the car?" These were two questions my |
young son asked me as we drove. To him, it seemed strange |
that as we moved, the sun moved. He was too young to |
understand that the sun wasn't moving at all. It is simply so big, |
that, from our perspective, it seemed to be following us. |
The SON is like this too. He never moves. He is the same |
yesterday, today, and forever. It doesn't matter how much WE |
move, vasillate, or turn away from Him. The Son remains in the |
same place. Ever constant. Ever faithful. Ever eternal. |
It sure seems like the Son is moving with us. It seems like He |
is anything but stationary. But no. It is WE who are moving. It is |
WE who are inconsistant. It is WE who turn this way and that, |
casting shadows over here and over there. It is WE who turn |
our backs to the light. The Son has never moved. He is where |
He has always been. |
Remarkably, we can turn all we want and run away all we want, |
but the Son will seem to follow us. We cannot escape His love |
nor His light. Yet He will not have changed. It's just that there is |
no corner of all creation which is hidden from His presence, or |
hidden from the victory which He has won. * |
