Proclamations of Faith |

Regarding Prophecy:
Rarely do we find prophecy correctly interpreted UNTIL
it is fulfilled. "I am telling you these things beforehand
so that WHEN THEY COME TO PASS you might believe."
These were the words of Jesus. We need to remember
this and take heed when assuming we can accurately
interpret end-time prophecy BEFORE it comes to pass.
Fulfilled prophecy is a proof God exists. But this alone
is not enough. Fulfilled prophecy can be duplicated by
false prophets. (Deut. 13)
It is a common ploy for false prophets to dismiss their
false prophecy by saying that it was fulfilled spiritually,
instead of in the literal sense they expected.
Prophecy is never predominately of a predictive nature,
although there is that element in it. Prophecy is mostly
a declaring of things exactly as they are; a revelation
of things the way God sees them.
You cannot find a single example in the New Testament
of a prophet directing a person's life, or of believers
seeking out prophecy as a source of future information.
