Proclamations of Faith |

Regarding Prophecy: |
Rarely do we find prophecy correctly interpreted UNTIL |
it is fulfilled. "I am telling you these things beforehand |
so that WHEN THEY COME TO PASS you might believe." |
These were the words of Jesus. We need to remember |
this and take heed when assuming we can accurately |
interpret end-time prophecy BEFORE it comes to pass. |
Fulfilled prophecy is a proof God exists. But this alone |
is not enough. Fulfilled prophecy can be duplicated by |
false prophets. (Deut. 13) |
It is a common ploy for false prophets to dismiss their |
false prophecy by saying that it was fulfilled spiritually, |
instead of in the literal sense they expected. |
Prophecy is never predominately of a predictive nature, |
although there is that element in it. Prophecy is mostly |
a declaring of things exactly as they are; a revelation |
of things the way God sees them. |
You cannot find a single example in the New Testament |
of a prophet directing a person's life, or of believers |
seeking out prophecy as a source of future information. |
