Fools for Christ's Sake
by David A. DePra
In this day and age, there is emerging a group of so-called
experts -- scholars and scientists -- who claim to have discovered
secrets and revelations which easily disprove the Bible. Their
sensationalism attracts quite a lot of attention. Most noteably are
those of the "Jesus Seminar."
The liberal scholars of the "Jesus Seminar" took a vote. They
decided that most of what the Bible says Jesus said, well, He never
said. You may think they have proof for this. But they don't. They
have concluded this almost entirely from reading the scripture itself.
You see, the going theory is that the Jesus of the Bible was made
up. He was a creation of people's beliefs a few hundred years
after He lived and died. The Jesus of the Bible, in effect, never
existed. The real, historical Jesus is a man we know little about.
This is something the "experts" have figured out for the rest of us.
They say they want to set free the real, historical Jesus.
Today we are returning to the atmosphere in which Christianity
was born. It was a time when Christians were "fools for Christ's
sake." Things have come full circle. Expect more "experts" to
find more "evidence" against Christianity. Lots more. Things are
just starting to get warmed up.*
